Orly Degani is special counsel in the appellate department of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold’s Los Angeles office. She holds a J.D. from Stanford University Law School and a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). As part of her practice, she represents a number of animal protection organizations and individuals engaged in litigation concerning animals, and is also actively involved in legislative efforts on behalf of animals. She is the founder and chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Animal Issues Committee and Los Angeles Lawyers for Animals, and has taught a course on Animal Law at The University of Southern California (USC) Law School. In 2005, she was recognized by the California Daily Journal as a “Top 20 Under 40” attorney. She was also named a “Southern California Super Lawyer-Rising Star” in 2004, and again in 2005, by the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine and The Journal for Law and Politics.
