The Paramount Hotel
We have reserved a room block at The Paramount Hotel for conference attendees. The Paramount hotel is a lovely, boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Portland, within walking distance of the Portland Art Museum, the Gerding Theater at the Armory (where our Friday Welcome Reception will be held), Pioneer Square, MAX line, and numerous restaurants and theatres. Our special group rate for the hotel’s Deluxe Rooms is $139/night plus 12.5% tax. Each room includes 1 King or 2 Queen beds, a private bathroom, complimentary high-speed internet access, a TV, personal refrigerators, two telephones and two phone lines, voicemail, a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, and more. The Mark Spencer Hotel
We have also reserved a room block at The Mark Spencer Hotel for conference attendees. The Mark Spencer Hotel is located in downtown Portland, close to Powell’s Books and adjacent to the famous Pearl District. The room block is for the hotel’s Standard Guest Rooms which include a queen bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private, full-size bathroom. All rooms also include free wireless internet, a TV, an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. Our special group rate is $89/night plus 12.5% tax. Transportation to the Hotel
Airport
It takes approximately 45 minutes by MAX light rail train to travel from the airport to downtown Portland and the Paramount Hotel. From the airport baggage claim area, look for signs for “Light Rail Tickets.” You can purchase a MAX train ticket ($2.30 to downtown) and get information about the train schedule in the airport lobby. The train runs approximately every 15 minutes to and from the airport.
To travel downtown from the airport, catch the MAX Red Line towards “City Center & Beaverton TC.” Exit the train at the Pioneer Square North stop which is located at SW Broadway and SW Morrison in downtown Portland. To get to the Paramount Hotel from that stop, walk along SW Broadway towards SW Yamhill Street. Turn right onto SW Taylor Street (one past SW Yamhill) and walk up one block to SW Park Avenue. The Paramount Hotel will be located on the left-hand side of the street at the corner of SW Taylor and SW Park.
Transportation to the Law School
Shuttle Bus
A full-size shuttle bus runs between the Law School and a downtown shuttle stop at 636 SW Salmon Street (in front of the Starbucks). Simply board the bus at shuttle stop for free service to the law school campus. Please note that the Pioneer Express weekend shuttle has added a 7:18 a.m. pick-up at Salmon & 6th during the weekend of our conference. The shuttle will also be stopping at the law school campus (without a special request) each day until 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m. passengers must “flag” the shuttle from the stop located on Terwilliger Drive across from the law school. NB: when you are looking at the Weekend Pioneer Express shuttle schedule (download link below), “Templeton” is the closest stop to the law school.

By Car
From Portland International Airport: Take I-205 south to I-84 west toward downtown Portland. Travel five miles on I-84 west and follow the signs to I-5 south toward Salem. Travel four miles on I-5 south and then follow the instructions below.
From I-5 southbound: Exit at Terwilliger Boulevard (#297). Stay in the right lane, which will circle back onto Terwilliger Boulevard. After passing over the freeway, stay on Terwilliger for 1.6 miles until you reach a roundabout. Take the third right off the roundabout; the main campus will be ahead on your left. Turn at the second entrance, marked Information, where you’ll find visitor parking.
From I-5 northbound: Exit at Terwilliger Boulevard (#297) and stay to the right. At the stoplight, take a right onto Terwilliger Boulevard. Stay on Terwilliger for 1.6 miles until you reach a roundabout. Take the third right off the roundabout; the main campus will be ahead on your left. Turn at the second entrance, marked Information, where you’ll find visitor parking.
To get to the law school, take the first right off the roundabout. You will enter the law school parking lot.
Parking
For those who plan to drive to the conference, there will be limited parking available on the Law School campus. Arrive early to ensure a spot. Additional parking is available in the Griswold parking lot on the undergraduate campus – please follow the signs directing you to the overflow parking area. The Griswold lot is a 5-10 minute walk from the law school.
Parking is free for conference attendees. Reserved parking for disabled visitors is distributed throughout campus lots. For conference attendees planning to visit campus before or after the conference weekend, please note that parking permits are required Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parking is only free after 7 p.m. weekdays, as well as on weekends
