Ever Vimbai Chinoda is the founder and director of Speak Out For Animals, a non-profit organization. While studying for the Animal Law LL.M. degree at Lewis and Clark Law School, she formed the organization to educate and advocate for animal protection policies and legislation in Africa. In Zimbabwe, she worked with Parks and Wildlife Management Authority for two years and prosecuted for three years under the Ministry of Justice. She was also the staff attorney who handled the Cecil, the lion case before she came to study for her LL.M. in August 2016.
Her focus currently lies in educating Zimbabwean university students, recent law graduates, and rural communities on animal law. She has also developed a wildlife reference guide for managing wildlife crimes in Zimbabwe and is working with the Zimbabwe Parliamentary Conservation Committee, advocating for harmonization of wildlife. Her desire is to make an impact on the protection of animals in Africa through the legal system.
