Transportation to the Hotel
Transit
It takes approximately 45 minutes by MAX light rail train to travel from the airport to downtown Portland. From the airport baggage claim area, look for signs for “Light Rail Tickets.” You can purchase a MAX train ticket ($2.50 to downtown) and get information about the train schedule in the airport lobby. The train runs approximately every 15 minutes to and from the airport.
To travel downtown from the airport, catch the MAX Red Line towards “City Center & Beaverton TC.” Exit the train at the Pioneer Square North stop which is located at SW Broadway and SW Morrison in downtown Portland.
To get to the Paramount Hotel from that stop, walk along SW Broadway towards SW Yamhill Street. Turn right onto SW Taylor Street (one past SW Yamhill) and walk up one block to SW Park Avenue. Transportation to the Law School
Pioneer Express Shuttle Bus
We recommend that conference guests take advantage of the free Pioneer Express shuttle buses between downtown and the law school campus. Please see the main Pioneer Express Bus Schedule and refer to the “Weekend Pioneer Express” schedule, located in the middle of page 2. There is also a second, Temporary Pioneer Express shuttle operating weekend evenings that provide additional shuttle time options to return downtown.
The closest stop to the Paramount Hotel is the 636 SW Salmon stop (at SW 6th), which is only 2 1/2 blocks away, located next to the Starbucks. From the Mark Spencer Hotel, this stop is about a 10-minute walk. NOTE: for our conference weekend, the Pioneer Express will begin service at SW Salmon & SW 6th at 7:20 a.m., so guests are able to arrive on campus in time for the 8:00 a.m. sessions. Please let the bus driver know that you would like to exit at the law school, as this is a “request only” stop on weekends. After the Saturday evening banquet dinner, buses will depart the law school parking lot at 8:38 p.m. and 9:05 p.m.
For all other departure bus trips from the law school to downtown, guests will need to wait at the “flagstop” location on SW Terwilliger Blvd. This is located across the street from the law school by the TriMet bus stop. Refer to the Templeton bus times on the weekend schedule for pick-up times for departing the law school. You will wave the bus down when you see it approaching and should expect it to arrive a few minutes after the posted Templeton stop times.
