Diego Plaza is a Chilean lawyer who holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. He continued his studies in environment and sustainable development at the law school of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and later traveled to Portland to obtain his LL.M. in Animal Law from Lewis & Clark. Diego is the founder and executive director of the Center for Animal Law Studies CEDA Chile, and he is also the founder and president of the Fundación Justicia Interespecie (or Interspecies Justice Foundation in English). He is a researcher at CEDA Chile and co-researcher of the Handbook on Global Animal Law (Max Planck Institute and Harvard Law School Animal Law & Policy Program). Besides, he serves as CALS Ambassador for the 2021-2022 term and is an associate member of the Animal & Biodiversity Think Tank Programme of the Global Research Network.
