Kate Dylewsky is the senior policy advisor at the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI). She previously worked at Born Free USA, and for the past seven years has lobbied at the federal and state levels on issues pertaining to wildlife. Since joining AWI, she has been closely involved with efforts to protect the Endangered Species Act from Congressional and regulatory assaults, led coalitions advocating for federal bills to protect wild animals in captivity, and partnered with organizations across the country to push state legislation addressing performing exotic animals, wildlife trafficking, and trapping, among other issues. Kate is a graduate of Georgetown University and lives in Washington, DC.
