Laura is the founder and executive director of the National Center for Animal Law. The Center promotes legal education for animal advocacy to encourage and support students’ goals of becoming legal advocates for animals. She received her J.D. and certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2001. As a student, she was Editor in Chief of the Animal Law Review, and director of the L&C chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. In addition to her work with the Center, Laura is a practicing animal law attorney and a board member of Humane USA-Oregon. She teaches the Animal Law Clinical Internship Seminar at Lewis & Clark Law School.
